Austin promoters C3 Presents LLC are making a $3.5 million donation to spruce up Auditorium Shores in an overhaul effort expected to last one year, forcing the many local festivals such as Fun Fun Fun Fest to find a different space to set up.

The popular festival and park spot would get new turf grass, a new off-lease dog area and an improved irrigation system under a proposal from the Parks and Recreation Department, KUT News reports.

The department is searching for alternative spaces for festivals to be held over the next year.

The renovation proposal will be heard in a special-called Parks and Recreation Board meeting today. The Austin City Council would have final approval on the project.
