The Atlanta-based developer that built Austin’s Frost Bank Tower is breaking ground next week on a 29-story downtown Austin office tower at Third and Colorado streets, bringing 371,000 square feet to the Central Business District.

Cousins Properties Inc.’s project, called Colorado Tower, has already secured two law firm tenants — Dubois Bryant & Campbell LLP and Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP, according to an announcement. According to the ABJ’s 2013 Book of Lists, Scott Douglass & McConnico is the 10th-largest law firm in town with about 44 lawyers. Dubois Bryant & Campbell is the 17th-largest firm with about 26 lawyers.

Colorado Tower’s cost was not disclosed. It will includes fitness facilities and a conference center, and is expected to be completed in November 2014. Duda/Paine Architects designed the tower.

Colorado Tower is the second office tower project to begin construction during the past few months — the 13-story, 195,000-square-foot IBC Bank Plaza broke ground in April at 500 W. Fifth St.
