The Barton Creek Resort & Spa, the venerable golf resort in West Austin near Capital of Texas Highway and Bee Cave Road, has been bought by Omni Hotels & Resorts as part of a five-property portfolio deal. The price was not disclosed.

The seller was KSL Capital Partners LLC of Denver.

The 312-room property has received kudos for its four championship 18-hole golf courses and picturesque Hill Country backdrop.

Along with the Barton Creek resort, Omni bought the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.; Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.; The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, N.C.; and The Homestead in Hot Springs, Va., for a total of 2,362 rooms.

All of the properties will be operated as part of the Omni’s Resort Collection.

The Barton Creek Resort & Spa is the No. 4 hotel in the Austin Business Journal’s 2013 Book of Lists, based on total 2011 receipts, behind the Hilton Austin, Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa and the Four Seasons Hotel Austin.
